Fences - Girls with Accents
I found this video at the same time I stubbled across Director/Photographer Christian Sorensen Hansen’s music video for Bryan John Appleby’s Cliffs Along the Sea. It’s quite a bit more involved, with a larger crew and a bit of a backstory. Some notes by Christian Sorensen Hansen:
…In terms of the concept- reading a bit about Chris Mansfield (lead of Fences) might help answer some questions better than I am able to here. I won’t get into his history too much but the short of it is that he has dealt with addiction in the past. In a way we wanted to talk about that experience in a light hearted manner and adapted elements from a short I had written earlier this year to do so. The short was about a man whom after returning home, his hair began to grow uncontrollably. He went about the house as though nothing was wrong until he was forced to deal with the most obvious issue of all. More or less what you see above. We pitched the concept on a Friday and were rolling cameras the following Wednesday. Needless to say it was a whirlwind of a production but such a joy to be a part of.
