The Unusual Virtuoso/Badass Saturdays Feature returns with a bang, er, pluck.* Elaine Comparone plays Domenico Scarlatti’s Sonata in d minor, K. 517 - for some unexplained reason at a bar-height harpsichord. “Bartender!” Yet without a barstool. :-( 

Vaguely-related Rambling #1: A few years ago, I had a high school-aged composition student who remarked in a bored and knowing manner that she had played all of Scarlatti’s sonatas. “Really,” I thought, “all 555?” But I was too nice to say anything. I figured at some point in college some embittered professor would correct her.

*Apologies for the poor attempt at harpsichord humor.
